SPOTY 2015: Chris Froome finishes 6th in sporting poll

Sports Personality of the Year 2015

British Kenyan cyclist Chris Froome finished in sixth place in the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2015 last night.

The two-time Tour de France winner received just over 39 thousand votes but was unable to attend the event as his wife had recently given birth to their first child.

Froome also came 6th in the awards back in 2013.

The full breakdown of votes is:

  4. Tyson Fury (Boxing) 72,330 votes

  6. Chris Froome (Cycling) 39,007 votes
  7. Mo Farah (Running) 31,311 votes
  8. Max Whitlock (Gymnastics) 25,952 votes
  9. Greg Rutherford (Long Jump) 23,492 votes
  10. Lizzie Armistead (Cycling) 22,356 votes
  11. Adam Peaty (Swimming) 13,738 votes
