British High Commissioner to Kenya, Nic Hailey has today opened the Kenya Police Leadership Course.

Also this morning, Mr Hailey met Joseph Boinnet, 2nd Inspector General of Police (I.G) of The Republic of Kenya to discuss UK and Kenya co-operation on policing, and-terrorism and community security.

Last January (2015), the former High Commissioner, Doctor Christian Turner, was at the opening of the National Police Staff College Strategic Leadership Programme.

This Programme, the first of its kind in Kenya, was developed by the National Police Service (NPS) in partnership with Kenyatta University and the UK’s Bramshill College of Policing.

It combined strategic policing skills training with a diploma and Masters degree in Leadership and Security Management. Candidates on the course also undergo strategic leadership training, based on the UK’s International Strategic Leadership Programme (ISLP), which delivers contemporary concepts of best practice in policing form around the world.
