Britain’s double Olympic distance champion, Mo Farah, secured his first victory of 2016 with a win in the 3,000m event at the Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix.

The 32 year old who is missing the World Indoor Championships in Oregon last month had to work hard to win in 7:39.55 seconds, just ahead of Kenyan in 7:40.66.

“It was a kind of a messy race, at the beginning it was quick but I knew from 2k we were down so I was just trying to win the race in front of the home crowd.” – Mo Farah

Other British results included 20 year old Dina Asher-Smith who finished sixth in 7.25 seconds as Dafne Schippers claimed the women’s 60m in 7.10.
