Back in January, the UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Nic Hailey, pledged his support for the Beyond Zero: First Lady Half Marathon by promising to sponsor each and every one of his staff who signed up for the charity run.
It will certainly prove to be a generous gesture, as 102 of his staff have subsequently signed up which will certainly help #BankruptTheBalozi.
For anyone who is wondering, Balozi is a Swahili word meaning consul, ambassador or governor.
The UK High Commission team were out in force to sign up for the event today and the High Commissioner even got to meet up with 1989’s London Marathon winner, Douglas Wakiihuri.
