Microsoft’s Lumia 950, 950 XL, 650 and 550 Windows 10 mobile phones are now available in Kenya.
All four devices were unveiled at a Microsoft event held by Microsoft East Africa today and are the first batch of Windows 10 smartphones from Microsoft to hit the market.

The Lumia 950 XL has a 5.7-inch AMOLED Quad HD display while the Lumia 950 is a smaller version with a 5.2-inch display.
Both phones are targeted at the premium end of the market whereas the Lumia 650, a 5-inch (HD) device, is targeting mid-range business customers and benefits from several enterprise features.
The smaller Lumia 550 (it has a 4.7-inch HD display) and is being marketed as an entry-level Windows 10 Mobile smartphone.
The Lumia 950 costs Kshs 65,000 (approx £449) while the larger Lumia 950XL costs Kshs 70,000 (approx £484). Currently, if you purchase either of the two devices you qualify for a free display dock from Microsoft which is very useful if you want to take advantage of the Windows 10 Continuum feature.
The Lumia 650 and the Lumia 550 will go for Kshs 23,000 (approx £159) and Kshs 14,000 (£96) respectively.
In the UK, the Lumia 650 is available on PAYG (Pay As You Go) for £119.99 (plus £10 top up) and the 550 is available on PAYG for £39 (plus £20 top up). The more expensive 950 can be purchased for £399.99 (plus a £20 top up) and the XL will set you back £469.99 (plus a £10 top up).*
