Arsenal legend Kanu visits Kenyatta National Hospital

Former Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth star Nwankwo Kanu has challenged the Kenyan government to place more emphasis on treatment of heart problems.

Kanu was speaking after visiting with the patients at the cardiology wing at the Kenyatta National Hospital in his capacity as the founder of the Kanu Heart Foundation. The KHF, founded 16 years ago to offer underprivileged African children cardiovascular procedures has had over 415 heart surgeries at an outstanding 98.5% success rate.

Kanu was diagnosed with a heart defect 20 years ago but he underwent heart surgery and went on to have a hugely successful professional football career.
