UK investing Ksh 2.3 billion to enhance learning environment for Kenyan children

The UK government, which is a long standing partner in the Kenyan education sector, is investing Ksh 2.3 billion to help provide a conducive learning environment for children in eight counties.

Through this investment, the British government are recognising the special needs of marginalized and excluded children and the investment will provide cash transfers and well as helping in the construction of climate-friendly classrooms, girls’ dormitories, latrines, water tanks, solar installations and other climate mitigation initiatives.

It is hoped that these will provide a conducive learning environment for children in the counties which will benefit, which are: Wajir, Marsabit, Mandera, Tana River, Turkana, Isiolo, Garissa and Samburu.
