European Referendum: Deadline looms for ex-pat voter registration

EU Referendum Vote

The UK High Commission in Kenya have Tweeted a reminder to British citizens that if they want to vote in the forthcoming European Referendum, they only have until 16 May (next Monday) to register.

If you’re a British citizen, living and/or working in Kenya, you will need to make sure you are registered to vote if you wish to be able to cast your vote to decide the future of Britain’s membership.

You qualify to register to vote if you are:

  • a British citizen
  • an EU citizen resident in the UK
  • a qualifying Commonwealth citizen resident in the UK (someone who has leave to enter or remain in the UK, or does not require such leave)

If you live abroad, have been resident in the United Kingdom, and have been registered as a United Kingdom resident elector within the previous 15 years, you can register to vote in the usual way.

To register, please visit the UK Government’s Register to Vote page.
