SportPesa has continued its brand building mission with another sport based deal, sponsoring English Premier League club Hull City.
The popular betting platform already have sponsorship deals with various entities in sports, locally sponsoring the Premier League, Kenya Rugby Union and fellow English football club Arsenal who enjoy huge support in Kenya.
Today, their latest foray into the English football scene was announced on Twitter by Hull City FC revealing that SportPesa would be their official sponsor for the next three seasons and will have their name and company logo on the Tigers’ home, away and third shirts for the 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons.
This partnership will also see The Tigers become the first EPL team ever to come to Kenya to play a select SPL side.
The club described the deal as the “most lucrative in the Club’s proud 112 year history.”

This surprise announcement immediately drew interest from both Kenyans and Britons with Kenyans, but many British based fans seemed unsure who the new sponsors were.

Hull City’s Mo Diamé has said he is hopeful that the Tigers’ new Club record sponsorship deal with Kenyan-based SportPesa will see increased coverage of the Club in Africa.
“For me personally, it is nice to have more exposure in Africa and nice that the Club has begun a partnership with an African business.
“Football is really popular in Africa and it would be nice to think the partnership would create a few Tigers fans in places like Kenya.
“I am very proud of my African background and hope we see more African footballers in the English leagues,” he said on the club’s website.
