The British Council has launched a Sub-Saharan Africa Arts Newsletter, which contains a monthly round-up coordinated by the council’s East Africa Arts team.
The newsletter outlines the British Council’s programme of arts across the continent, concentrating on Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
Its Best of the Rest section offers details of other cultural events and opportunities for UK and African artists and institutions working in the UK or in Africa.
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. We do this by making a positive contribution to the UK and the countries we work with – changing lives by creating opportunities, building connections and engendering trust.
Established in 1947 as a library, the British Council provided study opportunities for Kenyan students and educators. As demand for further study and access to UK educational opportunities grew, the British Council Kenya began a UK exams service and started offering UK scholarships programmes.
