A team of Torch and Charter vets have completed a 50 mile charity cycle ride to raise money for UK based Kenyan charity Send A Cow.

The route, which took the team from their Torch to the Charter branch was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the British Cattle Veterinary Association (BCVA).

Generous donations helped the team beat their £850 target by £75, raising £925 in total from 19 supporters.

Send a Cow is a International Development charity with a difference. Working in a number of countries including Kenya, they’ve helped 1.3 million people work their way out of extreme poverty by providing livestock, tools, seeds and training, giving people the hope and means to establish a future for themselves, their families and their wider communities.

This isn’t the first cycling fundraiser to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the BCVA. Recently, a team from Nottingham Vet School and McMurtry and Harding Vets took part in a cycle relay across England covering almost 200 miles to raise money for the charity.

If you would like to donate to this fundraising effort, you can still do so through the group’s JustGiving page.
