Joint Minister of State for the Department for International Development (DFID) and Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Rory Stewart OBE is currently in Tanzania to see first hand the work of the High Commission in Dar es Salaam and the DFID in the country.
Tweeting about the visit the UK’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, Sarah Cooke, said it was a “pleasure” to welcome Mr Stewart to the country.
The visit follows a stop off for the minister in Somalia where he Tweeted how great it was to be reminded of the work and service of so many Brits, Somalis and others in Mogadishu and across Somalia.

Visiting a school in Tanzania, Rory was told that Tanzania primary enrolment is 97% and how UKaid supports children to go to school with a focus on girls and those with disabilities.
