Aberdeen based Kenyan charity Gathimba Edwards Foundation are celebrating after winning the Best Discussion award at the Aberdeen Business Networking Awards on Tuesday.

Their victory was awarded for their online discussion about the volunteers who built four houses in just seven days in Kenya.

This year, 25 Gathimba Edwards Foundation house building volunteers, who travelled to Kenya to build new homes for families in Karatina, completed their project ahead of schedule.

One of the volunteers, Carly McNeil, wrote for Brits In Kenya about her experience which she described as the ‘best trip of [her] life’.

The next house building volunteer trip planned by the charity is in July next year, and you can find out more and how to apply to join the team by visiting the Gathimba Edwards Foundation website.
