Tonight, Irish celebrity chef Rachel Allen will complete her week-long celebration of Irish food at the Muthaiga Country Club in Nairobi.
The 45-year-old regular on Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) and the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen show has been helping to deliver a menu of traditional Irish dishes in the Club Dining Room.
As part of the themed dishes, Muthaiga baker George learnt how to prepare fresh Irish soda scones, while Chef Paul loved the Gubbeen Chorizo brought from Ireland for one of the starters on the menu.
On Wednesday, she hosted a live cooking session at the Country Club where attendees had the opportunity to get a signed copy of her latest bestselling cookery books “Home baking” and “Coast”.
Yesterday, Rachel and her family were the guests of Irish Ambassador to Kenya, Dr Vincent O’Neill at his residence in Nairobi.
Tweeting about the visit, Dr O’Neil said he was “delighted” to meet the chef during her trip to Kenya.
