The British Council are inviting students aged 7 to 14 from Kenya and around the world to make their voices heard by joining a virtual school assembly, designed to promote their understanding of the Commonwealth and help them develop oracy skills. The assembly will celebrate Commonwealth Day and focus on this year’s theme, ‘Towards a Common Future’.

The assembly will involve students from UK schools, joined virtually by schools from across the Commonwealth. Students from the UK schools will share tips and strategies to engage pupils in discussion, while young people watching virtually will be invited to contribute their thoughts and ideas. Students will also be asked to share issues that are most important for young people in their schools and communities. These may then be shared with leaders ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in April 2018.

The live webcast will run from 13.00 – 14.00 Kenyan time (10.00 to 11.00 GMT) tomorrow (Monday 12 March). You must register in advance and log in on the day in order to take part. For more information, please visit the Schools Online microsite
