During his visit to Kisumu, UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Nic Hailey, toured the Ksh15billion East African Breweries Limited Kisumu currently undergoing renovation and which is due to open later in the year.

East African Breweries Limited is a subsidiary of British company Diageo and the state of the art brewery being built in Kisumu marks an exciting new stage in their ambitious plans for beer in Kenya and the East African region.

The development was announced last June when Diageo Chief Executive Ivan Menezes joined Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta at State House in Nairobi.

The new brewery will produce Senator Keg, Diageo’s flagship Kenyan beer made from locally sourced sorghum. Senator Keg is a truly iconic local brand, and the new facility will help meet growing demand.
