British charity supporter Annette Mcleish has visited the Kenyan child she sponsors after being touched by the seeing the progress they had made as a direct result of her generosity.

Annette is one of the sponsors who supports the work of Scottish charity Educate the Kids which was formed in 1998 and now provides education for 600 sponsored children annually. Without this supports, they would neverr have been able to receive any formal education.

Spurred on to meet Mariam, the young Kenyan girl she sponsors after seeing photographs showing her progress, Annette was moved to tears when they came face to face. Excited to meet the family, she received a warm welcome from the village children and has described it as a wonderful experience which would be hard to forget.

Sponsoring through Educate the Kids for just £11 a month supports a child through primary school, including uniform, breakfast, lunch, books and exam fees.

£25 supports a child through secondary school while £150 a month pays for a teacher who can teach a class of 30 children.
