Recently engaged African Promise fundraisers Katharine Coldman and Mark ‘Dickie’ Richardson have successfully completed their latest challenge for British based Kenyan charity African Promise.

The pair entered the Royal Parks Half Marathon yesterday, running in fancy dress with one leg each tied together and dressed as a couple of crayons, finishing in a time of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Leading up to the race, Katharine, who is African Promise founder Charles Coldman’s sister, set an ambitious target of £10,000 and at the time of writing, she has raised a very impressive £8,172 or 81 percent of her total.

African Promise serves a cluster of schools in the isolated Kasigau region of South East Kenya, supporting more than 2,600 disadvantaged children.

It was established 10 years ago and founder Charles Coleman has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of thousands of school children in rural Kenya through educational programmes, nutritional schemes and improved sanitary facilities.
