Kenyan expat wins UK Women Leaders Award

Kenyan expat Yvonne Owuor, who now lives and works in the UK, has won this year’s Women Leaders Award in the Community Impact Voluntary category.

Former Kenya Airways employee Yvonne who now works as a Major Projects Advisor at NHBC, the UK’s leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes, was nominated for her charitable work in and around Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.

Food Bank, Work Tree, World Vision, Community Action MK and Habitat for Humanity are among the charities the mother-of-one has supported in her spare time.

Reacting to the news, Yvonne said she was “Over the Moon” and following last night’s success she will be put forward for the CBI award.
